Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines via the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution .

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

"These types of products being offered, typically online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You simply do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not know the effect drugs like this might have on your health."
